This section covers the scope of the most widely used ad blockers, including additional features they offer and those that have nothing to do with blocking ads.
We will not consider the range of applications blocking pop-up windows only (popup blockers), since they are way too numerous and perform only one of the many functions necessary to fight off ads in the Internet. Ad blockers are an advanced range of applications that block both pop-up ads and banners.
